Throughout the 1990s and into the early 2000s, our founder, Aris Tsiropoulos, pursued a path that set the foundation for our expertise. While many jewelers relied on middlemen, Aris traveled directly to the world’s most renowned mining regions. He explored the sapphire fields of Sri Lanka, the emerald mines of Zambia, and the diamond deposits of the Congo. This journey spanned eight countries across four continents, including the vibrant mineral markets of India and the historic aquamarine sources of Brazil.

These formative years at the source defined our brand identity. We mastered the complex art of evaluating rough minerals and established direct relationships with local miners. This deep-rooted expertise ensures that every gemstone crafted in our 18-Karat gold settings is selected for its exceptional character, vibrant color and transparency. Whether we are setting a vivid Zambian emerald or a GIA-certified diamond, our provenance remains unimpeachable.

In 1994, Aris and Andrie Tsiropoulos founded the company, merging technical gemmological mastery with a heritage of retail excellence. For a decade, we refined our vision while serving a discerning clientele across Cyprus. This journey eventually led to the 2004 opening of our luxury atelier on John Kennedy Avenue. This flagship space now serves as the home for the rare treasures we discover and the bespoke masterpieces we create.

A Lifetime of Learning

Mastery Is Not a Destination

What sets Aris apart as a Master Gemmologist in Cyprus is not simply what he knows; it is the fact that he has never stopped learning. True expertise in the world of fine jewelry requires a lifetime of dedication. His formal gemological education began in 1997 with a Certificate in Gemmology from the Master Gem Gemmological Laboratory in Nicosia—an institution affiliated with the Gemmological Association of Great Britain (Gem-A). By 1998, the laboratory became an Allied Teaching Centre for Gem-A, authorized to deliver courses leading to the prestigious Diploma in Gemmology.

In 2001, Aris completed specialized Diamond Grading certification to further refine his skills. By 2007, he earned the title of Professional Gemologist from the International Gem Society. He passed both rigorous examinations on his first attempt, scoring 92% on the written exam and correctly identifying fifteen previously unseen gemstones.

International Recognition and Global Expertise
Aris did not stop there. In 2015, he attended the 1st Mediterranean Gemmological and Jewellery Conference in Athens. By 2019, his standing in the international community had grown significantly. Consequently, Tsiropoulos Jewelry joined the organizing committee for the 5th Mediterranean Gemmological and Jewellery Conference. This major event, held in Limassol, Cyprus, hosted expert delegates from 27 different countries.

In 2020, he earned multiple certifications from the International School of Gemology. These credentials cover colored gemstones, advanced treatments and the identification of laboratory-grown stones. This continuous study ensures that every piece of jewelry we offer meets the highest global standards of authenticity.

The Gübelin Academy Distinction
Aris recently reached a new milestone with Gübelin—one of the most respected gemological institutions in the world, based in Switzerland. Between 2023 and 2024, he completed the full Coloured Gem Professional programme. He was awarded the formal Gübelin Academy Diploma in June 2024, achieving the highest distinction of the programme.
