Terms and Conditions
These terms apply to purchases made in our shop and online, and to the services we provide.
Please read them before placing an order or leaving an item with us.
Tsiropoulos Jewelry is operated by Aris Tsiropoulos Ltd, 3 John Kennedy Avenue, 1075 Nicosia, Cyprus ("we", "us", "our").
These terms apply to purchases made at our shop in Nicosia and through tsiropoulos.net, and to the services we provide. By placing an order, or by leaving an item with us for a service, you agree to them.
The following pages form part of these terms:
Gemological laboratory services are provided by the Cyprus Gemological Laboratory (CGL), which is also operated by Aris Tsiropoulos Ltd. They are governed by the CGL Terms and Conditions published on cglcyprus.com.
Descriptions
We describe every piece as accurately as we can. Diamonds, gemstones and pearls are natural materials, and each one is different. Weights and dimensions of stones that are set in a piece are approximate.
Images
Photographs show the piece as faithfully as possible, but colours and sizes can look different on your screen.
What We Guarantee
We guarantee that the diamonds and gemstones in the pieces we sell are natural, unless the description states otherwise, and that the metal is as described.
Certificates From Other Laboratories
Where a piece is sold with a certificate from an independent laboratory, such as GIA or IGI, that certificate is the opinion of the laboratory that issued it.
Reports From Our Laboratory
Where a piece is sold with a report from the Cyprus Gemological Laboratory (CGL), which is part of our company, the section "Gemological Reports and Appraisals" below applies.
Prices
Prices are shown in euro (€) and include VAT. We may change a price before we accept your order, but not afterwards.
Availability
All pieces are subject to availability. Many of our pieces are unique and a piece shown on the website may already have been sold in our shop.
Reserving A Piece
We reserve a piece only against a deposit. The reservation period depends on the amount of the deposit. It is agreed with you and written on your receipt when the deposit is paid. When the period ends, we send you a written reminder and give you 30 days to complete the purchase. If the purchase is not completed in that time, the reservation ends, the piece is released for sale, and your deposit becomes a store voucher valid for 12 months.
How The Contract Is Made
When you complete the checkout, you make an offer to buy. Our first email confirms that we received your order. The contract is made when we send you a second email confirming that your order has been dispatched or is ready for collection.
Errors And Cancellation
If a price is wrong or a piece is no longer available, we may cancel the order at any time before dispatch. In that case we refund your payment in full.
Payment
Card payments are processed by JCC Payment Systems and PayPal. We do not receive or store your full card details.
Delivery
You may have your order delivered or collect it from our shop in Nicosia. Delivery times, costs and couriers are set out in our Shipping & Returns (Online) policy. Every delivery must be signed for by an adult. The piece is our responsibility until it is delivered and signed for.
Orders Delivered Outside The European Union
Our prices are the same for all destinations. Import duties, customs fees and local taxes charged by the destination country are paid by the customer.
Purchases Made In Our Shop
A piece bought in our shop in Nicosia may be exchanged, or credited to a store voucher valid for 12 months, within 30 calendar days of purchase. It is not refunded in money.
Purchases Made Online
You may cancel an online order within 14 calendar days of receiving it and receive a full refund. The procedure and conditions are set out in our Shipping & Returns (Online) policy.
Pieces That Cannot Be Returned Or Exchanged
Custom-made pieces, engraved pieces and rings resized to your specification cannot be returned or exchanged, whether bought in the shop or online. Pieces that show wear, alteration or damage after purchase are not accepted.
Inspection Of Returned Pieces
Every returned piece is inspected by our gemologist before an exchange or refund is approved. If a returned piece is not the piece we sold, or a stone has been replaced or altered, the return is not accepted.
Refund Timing For Online Orders
We refund you to your original payment method within 14 days of receiving your cancellation notice. We may wait until we have received and inspected the piece.
Certificates
All original gemological certificates must be returned with the piece. If an original certificate is missing, the cost of replacing it (currently €600) is deducted from your refund or credit.
Faulty pieces
Nothing in these terms affects your legal rights if a piece is faulty or not as described.
Gift vouchers are available in values of €50, €100, €200 and €500, and can be bought on our website or in our shop.
- Gift vouchers are redeemable in our shop in Nicosia only. A voucher bought on our website is sent by Akis Express to the Akis Express point you choose, or can be collected from our shop.
- The original voucher must be presented, intact and clearly legible. Copies, photographs, and vouchers that are torn, defaced, altered or otherwise damaged are not accepted.
- A voucher is valid for 12 months from its date of issue. It cannot be extended after that date.
- A voucher cannot be exchanged for money, and vouchers bought in our shop are not refundable. For vouchers bought online, your statutory rights as a consumer apply.
- The voucher is the holder's responsibility. Please treat it like cash: we do not replace or refund a voucher that is lost, stolen, damaged or not used before it expires.
Agreement Before Production
The price first quoted for a custom piece is an estimate, often given as a range, because it depends on the final design, the stones chosen and the weight of metal used. The design, materials, price range and estimated delivery time are agreed with you before production starts. A deposit, normally 50% of the estimated price, is paid when the order is placed, though a different amount may be agreed with you. The balance is paid on collection or before delivery. The deposit is not refundable once production has started.
Gold Price Changes
Because the price of gold changes daily, we agree a price range with you rather than a fixed price. The final price is set within that range when your piece is completed, and reflects the gold price and the metal weight actually used. It will not be higher than the top of the agreed range.
Natural Variation
Custom pieces are made by hand with natural stones. Small differences from a drawing, a photograph or an earlier piece are normal and are not a fault.
Engraving
Please check all text, dates and spelling before you approve an engraving. Engraving is permanent.
No Return Or Exchange
Custom-made, engraved and resized pieces are made or altered for you, so they cannot be returned or exchanged. This does not affect your legal rights if a piece is faulty or not as agreed.
These terms apply to the repair, restoration, resizing, plating, engraving and pearl restringing services described on our Services page.
Intake Receipt
When you leave a piece with us, we record your contact details and a short description of the piece, and give you a receipt. Please bring the receipt when you collect. If it is lost, we ask for photo identification. The receipt identifies the piece and the work requested. It is not a valuation or a gemological report.
Time
Standard repairs take approximately two weeks. We tell you at intake if a piece needs longer.
Estimates And Final Cost
The price given at intake is an estimate. The final cost depends on the working time and the precious metal actually used. If the work needed goes substantially beyond what was agreed, we stop and ask for your approval before continuing. All prices include VAT. Payment is made in full when you collect your piece.
Work That Cannot Be Undone
Ring sizing, plating and engraving are final once the work has started. Please check sizes, colours and engraving text at intake.
Stones At Risk
Some stones can be damaged by heat, soldering, cleaning, unsetting or resetting. These include stones with existing cracks, inclusions or fractures, heat-sensitive stones such as emeralds, opals and pearls, and stones with certain treatments. We inspect every piece under magnification at intake. Where we see a risk, we explain it and ask for your approval before starting. Once you have approved the work, we are not responsible for damage caused by a stone's existing condition, natural fragility or undisclosed treatment.
Stones You Supply
Setting or handling a stone that we did not supply is done at the owner's risk.
Our Care
We store your piece securely while it is with us and handle it with professional care. Pieces are left with us at the owner's risk and are not covered by our insurance, so we recommend that you keep your own insurance in place. We are not responsible for loss of or damage to a piece caused by theft, burglary, robbery, act of God or war.
Collection
We tell you when your piece is ready. Please collect it within 90 days.
Nothing in this clause affects your legal rights as a consumer.
Who Issues Them
Reports, certificates and appraisals are issued by the Cyprus Gemological Laboratory (CGL) under its own Terms and Conditions, published on cglcyprus.com. The points below summarise what they mean for you as our customer.
A Professional Opinion
A report or appraisal records the gemologist's findings and professional opinion on the date of examination. It is not a guarantee or a warranty. Grading can vary with equipment, lighting and testing conditions and another laboratory may reach a different result.
Results You May Not Expect
Our findings are based on testing, not on how a piece was described when it was bought, what it was believed to be, or its sentimental value. A piece may prove to be synthetic, laboratory-grown, treated, an imitation, or of lower value than expected. The fee for the examination is payable whatever the result. We are not responsible for any loss or disappointment arising from our findings, including a lower value than expected.
Mounted Stones
Stones set in jewellery are examined without being removed. All weights, measurements and grades of mounted stones are therefore estimates and approximate. Claws and settings may hide inclusions, fractures or chips.
Origin And Treatment
Findings on geographic origin and on treatment are given as the gemologist's opinion, in line with international laboratory practice. Some treatments can be detected only by advanced laboratory analysis.
Value
A report or certificate does not state a value. Only an appraisal does. The value in an appraisal is an estimated retail replacement value on the date of issue. It is not a selling price or a resale price.
Proof Of Purchase
A report is not a proof of purchase. For exchanges and warranty matters, please present your invoice or exchange card.
Later Changes
A report or appraisal describes the piece as it was on the date of examination. Any later alteration, repair, resizing, polishing or stone replacement means it no longer applies to the piece.
Validity And Use
A report or appraisal is valid only with an original signature and its report number. It may not be altered, and it may not be used in advertising without our written consent.
We are responsible for loss or damage that is a foreseeable result of our failure to follow these terms or to use reasonable care and skill.
We Are Not Responsible For:
- indirect losses, or losses connected with a business or resale;
- delays or failures caused by events outside our reasonable control;
- interruptions or errors in the operation of the website, which is provided as it is.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or affects the statutory rights of consumers, including your rights if a piece is faulty or not as described.

These terms are available in English and, on request, in Greek.
Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. The version in force on the date of your order, or on the date you leave an item with us, applies to that order or item.
